The Demise of Upper Moon Two: Doma
Doma, the charismatic and chilling Upper Moon Two of the Twelve Kizuki, met his end in a battle against Kanao Tsuyuri and Shinobu Kocho during the Infinity Castle arc of *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba*. His death was a culmination of vengeance, strategy, and a potent dose of poison. Shinobu, knowing she lacked the physical strength to decapitate an Upper Moon, dedicated her life to developing lethal wisteria poison. She meticulously altered her body, absorbing vast quantities of the poison over years, effectively turning herself into a walking, talking venomous concoction. Her plan was simple: be consumed by Doma, poisoning him from the inside out. Shinobu engaged Doma in battle, employing her swift and precise insect-based techniques to inflict minor but numerous wounds, injecting her poison with each strike. While Doma initially dismissed her attacks as insignificant, the poison began to subtly weaken him. He eventually consumed her, as she intended, believing he had neutralized her threat. However, Shinobu’s sacrifice wasn’t in vain. The wisteria poison, concentrated and potent, began to work its way through Doma’s system. Although his regenerative abilities slowed its progress, the sheer volume of poison he ingested proved overwhelming. Meanwhile, Kanao, fueled by her grief over Shinobu’s sacrifice and her own desire for revenge, arrived to continue the fight. Kanao possessed exceptional eyesight and reflexes, having undergone rigorous training. Doma, now weakened by the poison, found it increasingly difficult to keep up with her attacks. Kanao initially struggled, as Doma’s Blood Demon Art, *Cryokinesis*, allowed him to manipulate ice and create deadly techniques like *Freezing Clouds* and *Scattering Lotuses*. He also possessed the ability to create ice clones, further complicating the battle. However, the poison’s effects became increasingly apparent. Doma’s movements slowed, his regenerative abilities weakened, and his ice techniques became less potent. Kanao, pushing herself to her absolute limit, unlocked the *Repetitive Action* technique, allowing her to anticipate Doma’s movements and react with blinding speed. In a final, decisive moment, Kanao utilized her *Flower Breathing Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye*. This technique, though risky, granted her heightened perception and allowed her to pinpoint Doma’s weakest point. Seizing the opportunity, she delivered a fatal blow, beheading him with Nichirin Sword. Doma’s death was significant not only because he was a powerful Upper Moon, but also because it highlighted the themes of sacrifice and revenge prevalent in the series. Shinobu’s selfless dedication to her goal, combined with Kanao’s unwavering determination, ultimately led to the downfall of a formidable opponent. His demise was a crucial step towards the Demon Slayer Corps’ ultimate victory against Muzan Kibutsuji.
